Crieff’s Christopher Marshall has just returned from the sixth Downs Syndrome World Swimming Championships in Italy, where he represented Great Britain.
Together with Sam Pattinson from Gretna and Fiona Dawson from Troon, they were the Scottish contingent in a 23 swimmer British squad which competed against swimmers from all parts of the globe.
This is the third time Christopher has represented his country at these championships and once again he returned with medals as witness to the effort put in by him and the rest of the team.
Christopher’s Gold and Silver in the International competition and his Bronze in the World section were won in Breast Stroke, individual Medley and Front Crawl demonstrating his ability in all swimming disciplines.
Christopher would like to thank everyone in Crieff and Strathearn who have supported him over the last two years of preparation for these latest championships.
The next World Championships are to be held in Mexico in 2014 but Christopher has yet to decide if he is going to bid for a place in the team.
