Amateur football: Vale of Earn continue winning ways

Vale of Earn continued their impressive league form with a comfortable win over midtable Kinrossie Caledonian. Vale kicked off in glorious sunshine and immediately took the game to the visitors and gained the lead when Garry Brock rose unchallenged to head home Cooper’s corner.

Vale doubled their lead after good work by Stevenson and Reilly saw Harrison turn and fire the ball past the keeper. With Vale’s back line of Toberts , Cassiday, R Brock, Ritchie and keeper Chiverton thwarting all Kinrossie’s attacks and playing the ball well out of defence Vale went into half time two up.

In the second half, a determined Kinrossie took Vale by surprise scoring a well taken goal early on. But Garry Brock soon had the Vale’s two goal advantage back when he was first to react to a loose ball in the box to score.

David Sinclair, playing well in his first game back for Vale in three years, then put the game past Kinrossie with a well placed header. Harrison scored Vale’s fifth after a great passing move involving subs Welsh, Gill and Stewart. Kinrossie managed another goal late on before Ritchie’s rocket shot flew past the keeper to finish the scoring.
