Vale fightback earns Scottish Cup replay

Vale of Earn scored a late equaliser in this Scottish Cup tie at Pitlochry last Saturday to ensure they get another chance at Crieff this Saturday to move into round two.

Vale of Atholl started the game better than the Crieff side and were soon two goals up with two well taken shots.

Vale of Earn eventually got back into the game when Danny Harrison cut past two defenders and unleashed an unstoppable drive past the home side’s keeper.

Vale of Earn couldn’t use all of their possession to their advantage in the second half though and it looked like the hard working well organised Vale of Atholl team would progress to the next round until good work from Connor Stewart saw Daniel Murphy’s shot rebound off the post to Ross Brock who scored to even the game.

The rematch is at Market Park this Saturday. Kick off 2pm.

Last week’s Vale of Earn report should have featured Ross Bremner in the accompanying photo but it was his brother, Fraser, who appeared under Ross’ name. Apologies for any confusion caused.
