DESPITE the wet weather and a course that was muddy in places, nearly 230 runners took part in an enjoyable Crieff 10k race on Sunday, July 8.
The first man home was last year’s winner Prasad Prasad, of Squadra Porcini in a very fast time of 34 minutes 11 seconds, and the winner of the women’s race was Edel Mooney, of Lothian AC, also for a second successive year.
The first local man to finish was Wattie Mackay and the first local woman was Strathearn Harrier Angela Mackenzie, who was also third woman overall.
While the 10k was taking place, 35young runners raced around a 1 Mile Junior course.
Many were junior Strathearn Harriers but there were also entrants from Canada and Northern Ireland.
In the under 11 category the winners were Comhnall Ferguson and Rebecca Wallace, in the under 13 category the winners were Conor Ryan and Catriona Roberts, and the winning under 15s were Dominic Mestecky and Gillian Black.
