Crieff’s Caitlin takes Scottish schools gold

CRIEFF athlete Caitlin Edgar (pictured above) won the 75m hurdles at the Scottish Schools athletics championships at Grangemouth last Saturday.

The 13-year-old, representing Morrison’s Academy, eased through the heats as fastest qualifier in 12.15s then streaked away from the field in the final to win comfortably in a new personal best of 11.87s, only narrowly missing the championship record.

Caitlin, who trains with Central Athletic Club in Stirling, won her first medal last week at the Scottish Schools pentathlon championships. She will take on the pentathlon again in a fortnight at the Scottish National Championships.
