Strath’s squash stars in action

THE Midlands junior B and senior ranking squash event took place at Bell’s Sports Centre last weekend.

Crieff Hydro players Greig Stewart, Susan Anderson and Rory Stewart competed in Division 1. Susan beat Rory in the final game of their match but narrowly lost against her next opponent Andrew Forbes. She was delighted to come sixth overall.

Rory went on to face senior player Dave Ireson and won 11-9 to finish seventh in his first premier division battle. Brother Greig Stewart won his opening tie 3-0 against Dave Ireson but went on to lose 3-1 in both of his other ties, giving him fourth place.

Strathearn’s Sean Gadsby finished in eighth place in Division 2.

In Division 3 local lass Gillian Crawford faced David Beaumont, who went on to win Division 2. Gillian then lost a controversial match to Andrew Graydon from Bridge of Allan but went on to beat Perth’s Jack Hogg for a sixth place in Division 3.
