DESPITE the severe rain, Muthill golf course was in excellent condition last Saturday for the gents’ open.
A good entry of 76 took part, mainly from local clubs but some from as far afield as Lossiemouth on the Moray Firth.
The course’s small greens and tight pin positions proved costly to many of the players.
Winner – Graham McKinven (Braehead) 73 (12) 61; r/up Gordon Paterson (Muthill) 72 (11) 61; third L McGregor (Callander) 87 (24) 63.
Scratch – Stuart Neilly (Muthill) 69.
Longest drive at 7th – Kevin Carlton (Larkhall). Nearest the pin at 11th – Gordon Paterson (Muthill); nearest the pin at 18th – Stuart Neilly (Muthill).
The competition was supported by local business Gordon Motors of Crieff.
