NOT one for sitting on his laurels now that the football has stopped for the summer, Peter Reilly Snr, manager of Comrie Rovers FC, is already looking ahead to the club’s foray into Division Two next season.
Speaking exclusively to the Strathearn Herald this week, he announced the signing of five new players - Graham Abernethy, Peter Reilly Jnr, Raymond Stevens, David Sinclair and Robin Allan.
The lads are no strangers to the second division having come from Vale of Earn’s cup winning squad, and Peter has already been putting them through their paces at training sessions with new coach Billy Crane.
The go-ahead manager told the Herald: “We are pleased to welcome the new signings to the team and are looking forward to another successful season. “We’ve also enlisted the help of Crieff Juniors coach Billy Crane and player/ coach Alex Murdoch.
“And, we’re hoping to add another few players to the line-up yet. Watch this space!”
To see how the team are shaping up, get along to the Laggan Park on Friday at 7.15pm where they will be playing a friendly match against East Stirling U19s, the team coached by Muthill’s Derek Mackenzie.
