Muthill Golf Club Seniors’ Open winners

HOME WINNER: Muthill ladies captain Eileen MacLeod presents Seniors’ Open winner John Souter with his quaich.

HOME club member John Souter won Muthill Golf Club Seniors’ Open on Tuesday, June 16.

The weather was very good, the course was in excellent conditions and 69 players from more than 25 clubs took part.

It was a long day for the organisers and helpers, particularly the ladies of the club who looked after the booking-in, starting and score sheets, as the first group teed off at 8am and the last group did not finish until almost 6.30pm.

Scoring was good and John Souter won the quaich with a net 61 (13).

Age 50-64: J Kennedy (Wishaw) 63 (17); A Shepherd (Muthill) 63 (17); A Campbell (Muthill) 64 (12).

Age 65 and over: J Souter (Muthill) 61 (13); K Dodds (Muthill) 62 (22); Frank Reid (Muthill) 63 (14).

Scratch: I Peddie (Tulliallan) 68; R Harbinson (Muthill) 69; G Milne (Aberdour) 73.

Longest drive: R Harbinson (Muthill). Nearest the pin: I Peddie (Tulliallan).
