THREE athletic doctors from Crieff’s Blue Practice completed the 70 Wild Miles charity triathlon at the beginning of June.
Alan Matthews, Claire Jones and David Mitchell travelled to Glencoe to compete in the event in aid of children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
Team Turret, as they were named, were defending the title they won at last year’s event.
The training for the 47 mile bike ride, 10 mile kayak and 13 mile run went well and the team were pleased with their third place against stiff opposition.
The finishing time of 4 hours 2 minutes was significantly faster than last year, due largely to shortening of the kayak course because of dangerous conditions on Loch Etive.
Alan, Claire and David thanked all the friends and patients who sponsored them and are still taking donations at Crieff Medical Centre.
