Fighters’ cash plea to fund Tokyo trip

THREE members of Crieff’s Kyokushin Karate club are hoping to fly off to Tokyo this summer.

Shihan Martin Marlborough (56), 5th dan, and Eamon Cramb (17), 2nd kyu, plan to take part in the Kyokushin Karate World Karate Friendship Championships in August.

Eamon will compete in the youth karate tournaments, while Martin will join the cadet masterclass for over-35s.

Making up the team will be coach Sensei Belle Marlborough.

Martin said: “This will be a great experience for Eamon and if he does well he could be fighting in the senior world championships in two years time.”

The club is trying to raise over £4000 to help pay for the journey. Anyone who wants to help can contact Belle Marlborough on (01738) 637167.
