ORGANISERS of the Hairy Coo sent out a “big, heartfelt thank you” to everyone who entered and took part in the Comrie Croft Mountain Bike Challenge on October 18.
They also apologised to competitors who found the course an arduous one and promise to make next year’s race easier.
Hairy Coo coordinator Colin Macphail said: “We very much enjoyed hosting the event and it was great to see so many folk using our trails and testing themselves against our hill.
“Generally the feedback we received on the race was encouraging but a fair number of riders felt that the course was a little too tough this year. If you found this we would like to apologise.
“Every effort was made to iron out problem areas of the course but the overnight rain turned sections which had been rideable with ease into much more challenging terrain.
“We have taken competitors’ comments on board and are already planning changes to the course for next year, both in terms of the uphill, which we will try to make a little more forgiving, and the downhills, which we would like to make a little more balanced with less emphasis on the very technical and narrow.
“"We are keen to hold the event again next year and hope that many of you will join us again for more fun in the mud.
“Comrie Croft bike trails are open all year round and everyone is welcome to come and put their bike skills to the test at any time.”
