AUCHTERARDER booked their place in the quarter finals of the league cup with a comfortable win over their third division opposition on Saturday.

The visitors went in at half time 2-0 to the good thanks to goals from Patterson, the second of which was a cool lob over the Perth keeper.

The second half followed much the same pattern as the first with Primrose on top for long spells.

Patterson completed his hat-trick 10 mins into the half and further goals from Wilson and substitute Cunningham put them into a 5-0 lead.

Just as the visitors looked to be cruising to victory Villareal scored a consolation in the final minute following an error from Yurdakol in the Primrose goal.
