Auchterarder supports Macmillan

A Strath fundraising group is saying a big thank you to all who helped raise over £3000 in one evening.

Auchterarder Macmillan Fund-raising Group’s Concert for Christmas, which took place at Gleneagles Hotel on Tuesday, December 18, generated the grand sum of £3850.

Entertainment was provided by the Rosenethe Singers from Dunblane, directed by Matthew Beetschen, who treated the audience to a varied repertoire.

The soloist this year was violinist Rachael Smart from Crieff, a second year student from The RoyalConservatoire of Scotland who clearly has a sparkling career in front of her and played beautifully.

Organisers said: “Grateful thanks must go to all who bought tickets, donated prizes and assisted on the night.

“A special thank you to Jennifer Randall and the management of the Gleneagles Hotel for providing the venue and to committee member Betty Muir who was responsible for introducing this as an annual event on our calendar.

“Thanks also to Gilford Bradley, a volunteer speaker for Macmillan, who was on hand to answer any questions on the night.

“We look forward to seeing you at this event next year and recommend that you get your tickets early to avoid disappointment following another sell-out concert this year.”
