A VANDAL caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to cars in Perth during a wrecking spree.
Kristofer Inches (21), of Colville House, Leadenflower Road, Crieff, paid the penalty when he appeared for sentence at Perth Sheriff Court.
He was fined a total of £225 and ordered to make compensation totalling £459. He was also fined a further £150 after he failed to turn up for an earlier court date.
The court was told that he caused £218 worth of damage when he maliciously struck the rear window of a car in Murray Crescent on February 5, 2010.
He then used a dog lead to target a vehicle in Craigie Road the same day, causing £166 of damage. The rear passenger window of a third car was also smashed in nearby Windsor Terrace, again on February 5, with damage estimated at £75.
Inches also admitted breaching a bail order on June 24 last year.
Solicitor Cheryl Clark said sentence on Inches had been deferred from February 16 for his good behaviour and to allow him to save up towards the damage.
During that period he had handed over £50, but Sheriff Michael Fletcher noted that he had failed to save the £5 a week he had suggested. The sheriff imposed the fines and compensation orders, payable at £5 a week from his benefits.
