A BY-ELECTION to find a new Perth and Kinross councillor in the Strathallan ward has been announced this week.
The election comes following the sudden death of Blackford man John Law earlier this year.
The by-election will be held on Thursday, May 6 from 7am to 10pm.
Only those on the electoral register for the Strathallan ward will be eligible to vote.
Details of the polling station will be on the poll card. Anyone who has not yet received their card can contact the electoral registration officer on 01738 630303.
Anyone who would like to vote, but will not be able to make it to a polling station can apply for a postal or proxy vote.
For further information or to apply for an alternative form of voting, contact the electoral registration officer on the number above, by email on perth@tayside-vjb.gov.uk or by writing to Robertson House, Whitefriars Crescent, Perth, PH2 0LG.
Applications to vote by post must be received by the electoral registration officer by 5pm on Tuesday, April 20 at the above address. Proxy vote applications must be received at the same address by Tuesday, April 27.
The Strathallan ward is represented by three councillors. The winner will join Ann Gaunt and Murray Lyle.
