TAYSIDE Police are continuing to clamp down on anti- social behaviour on the streets of Strathearn.
Incidents including assaults, urinating in public, vandalism to cars and properties, loud parties and general anti-social behaviour often fuelled by alcohol are among those which police have dealt with recently.
Community Engagement Officer for Auchterarder and surrounding area, Constable Jason Salisbury said: “Strathearn is a very safe and pleasant area to live. However a small minority of people are intent on acting in an irresponsible and selfish manner.
“They spoil the quality of life for others and it’s not just the victims of the crime who are affected but for the rest of us who live here”.
Police will continue to carry out high visibility foot patrols and will use every means at their disposal in an attempt to combat anti-social behaviour. They will tackle those responsible by still maintaining a firm but fair approach. Offences can be dealt with via means of on the spot Fixed Penalty Fines for minor incidents or for the more serious of crimes individuals will be arrested and put before the courts.
Constable Salisbury added: “Unfortunately we cannot always be at the right place when incidents occur and in order to help tackle these issues I would encourage the local communities within Strathearn to work together with the police and report any anti social behaviour immediately.
“Police can then deal with the problem effectively resulting in the detection and prevention of crime and most importantly, by reducing the level of anti-social behaviour on the streets of Strathearn, we can help improve the overall quality of life for all those who live and work here”.
