TWO Strathearn companies have joined together to produce a new product, ‘Summer Harvest Raspberry Dressing’.
Comprising of Madderty-based double award-winning ‘Summer Harvest Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil’ and Comrie-based ‘Dalchonzie Raspberry Vinegar’, it truly is a local product.
The fresh light flavour of the rapeseed oil compliments the fruity vinegar making a ‘Raspberry Dressing’ that already is flying off the selves of many deli’s and farm shops.
Add to this the provenance of the ingredients and the health benefits of the cold pressed rapeseed oil and the true benefits of the dressing become apparent.
Summer Harvest Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil, as used by Nick Nairn at Dundee Food and Flower Festival, has very low levels of saturated fats – half that of olive oil, and a high Omega 3 level – 10 times that of olive making it one of the healthiest oils on the market.
Mark Bush, managing director of Summer Harvest Oils, reported: “We have been trialling the dressing at farmers’ markets over the last few months and have found that customers have been enjoying using the dressing on pasta, chicken and fish as well as using it to liven up their salads.
“We really could not have believed how popular the dressing has become.”
It was showcased at The Speciality Fine Food Fair in Olympia, London, the largest trade fair of its sorts and was received extremely well.
