Muthill Gala Week finale

THE finale to Muthill Gala Week was a well attended celebration in Coronation Park. Although dark clouds threatened, the showers stayed away so that everyone could enjoy the day.

On behalf of the organisers, Maureen MacGregor thanked everyone who had helped throughout the week with the various events and she especially praised those who had turned up to help at the park on Gala Day.

She told the Herald: “Their assistance was greatly appreciated. We raised over £1000 on the day. This year’s fancy dress parade was a great success with the largest turnout we have seen for many years.

“Everyone who put out a scarecrow has also gone to a great deal of effort and we had 47 dotted around the village this year. Alas, the vandals have struck again and some of the entries have been tampered with, which is a great shame after all the hard work that is put into them.

“I would like to thank judges Janice, Hilary and Karen from Forteviot SWRI for judging the scarecrows and Mr and Mrs Cubby for deliberating on the fancy dress.Theirs was no easy task.”

Maureen also issued a reminder that there are no spaces left on the mystery coach trip which is set to take place this weekend.
