Group search for volunteers for Wednesday Club

STRATHCARE are looking for some community minded volunteers to help out at their popular Wednesday Club.

The club meets every Wednesday afternoon between 1.30pm and 4.30pm from April to December. Members are treated to an outing using Strathcare’s bus, Bertie, which is specially adapted to allow easy access and can also safely take two or three wheelchairs. The members thoroughly enjoy a run in the countryside and during the afternoon there is always a stop for tea.

In addition to the driver there are always two Passenger Assistants present to help folk on and off the bus, chat to the members and simply add to the enjoyment of the afternoon. There are currently six Passenger Assistants but Strathcare would like to recruit at least two more so that, ideally, each assistant would be required only once a month.
