Cycling team reaches Crieff

A TEAM of six cyclists, including three with Parkinson’s, will visit Crieff Visitor Centre on Friday as part of an epic journey from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise funds for the Parkinson’s Disease Society (PDS).

The team is aiming to raise £100,000 to fund research into a cure for Parkinson’s disease by cycling the 1000 miles across the UK. They are visiting a number of places en route to raise awareness of Parkinson’s and the importance of research into the condition.

The Parkinson’s Disease Society Mobile Resource Unit (MRU), a travelling library full of information about Parkinson's disease, will also be at the Crieff Visitor Centre from 1pm till 6pm. Anyone affected by Parkinson’s is welcome to visit the MRU for more information and about all aspects of living with the condition.

Greeting the team will be Andrew Sim, Country Manager for Scotland for the PDS and Denise McNiven, the PDS Fundraiser for Scotland.

Denise said: “We are delighted to great the team as they enter the last phase of their incredible challenge. I hope many will join us on the day to show their support and to find out more about living with Parkinson’s.”
