Blackford Parish Church marks 150 years

THE main event to mark Blackford Parish Church’s 150th anniversary took place on Saturday.

Around 200 guests attended a garden party in the church grounds to celebrate the historic occasion.

Mr Drummond Moray of Abercairny, whose ancestor was the laird who built the kirk, was invited to plant a commemorative tree before guests enjoyed a delicious strawberry tea.

Inside the church, a major attraction was the display organised by Blackford Historical Society. The many old photographs of the village and its residents proved to be a great talking point.
