Comrie First Response welcomes sponsor

AS IT approaches its first birthday, the Comrie First Response team were delighted to receive a gift of partial sponsorship from Douglas and Doreen Lamont of Wiltshire Farm Foods. The donation will go towards the ongoing expense of keeping the First Response vehicle on the road.

Mr Lamont explained: “We wanted to put something back into the community and felt that this was a very worthy local cause to help.

“Mairi, Eileen and the other volunteers for Comrie’s First Response do a marvellous job.”

First Response director of operations, Alan Moffat, thanked Mr and Mrs Lamont, saying: “Although the service is run by volunteers, continuous costs such as vehicle lease payments, insurances and training expenses mean that donations and the support of people like Douglas and Doreen are invaluable to the successful running of the charity.”

He added: “We are currently looking for more volunteers for Comrie and are also keen to hear from anyone wishing to start up a Responder service in Auchterarder.” For more details contact Alan on 07515434562 or go to www.first-respose.org.uk and click on Getting Involved.”
