Screen stars Robbie Coltrane, Kevin McKidd, Kelly Macdonald and Craig Ferguson took to the red carpet for the European premiere of the new Disney/Pixar animation Brave.
The movie, set in the mythical medieval Highlands of Scotland, was being shown at the closing night gala of the 66th Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF).
It topped the US box office last weekend, taking in an estimated 66.3 million US dollars (£42.27 million) and was the 13th consecutive Pixar film to open at number one.
The four actors provided the voices for some of the film's leading characters, as did other household names such as Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters.
Speaking on the red carpet, McKidd said it was a fantastic experience to be involved in the film.
The Scots-born actor said: "I was asked about three or four years ago by Pixar to be involved in it and as soon as I heard the word 'Pixar' I just said 'Yes, I don't care what it is, I'll do it' because I've been a fan of their movies since they started making films.
"I feel very blessed and honoured to be part of this.
"I think it's definitely going to have a big effect. I'm very proud to be Scottish and I'm always telling people to come and visit.
"I think there is going to be a lot of kids nagging and dragging their parents to come and see this film."
