Oil firms focus on 'global centre'

Plans to establish Aberdeen as a multibillion-pound "global energy centre of excellence" are under way with three major companies set to open offices in the city.

Drum Property Group have said planning applications had been submitted on behalf of Apache North Sea and Nexen Petroleum UK, with an application for Transocean Drilling UK to be submitted in the next few weeks.

The plans will see £100 million invested in the Prime Four business park on the outskirts of the city.
