Care homes face more inspections

All care homes will receive an unannounced inspection at least once a year, the Health Secretary has told MSPs.

Nicola Sturgeon said inspectors would also be able to increase the number of times they visit a home over a year if they were concerned about its performance.

Ms Sturgeon announced the changes in a statement to Holyrood on the quality of care for the elderly.
