Man dies after crash on icy road

A motorist has died after his car left the road in icy conditions.

The latest cold weather spell has taken its toll on routes in the north and north east of Scotland, with several routes shut to traffic because of ice and snow.

In Shetland, the driver of a Renault Clio was killed when the vehicle travelling between Vatster and Laxfirth in the Gott area left the road and caught fire.
