The Scottish Government has accused Labour at Westminster of "stirring up problems" in a row over drug addicts on benefits.
SNP community safety minister Fergus Ewing rejected claims that Scotland is withholding information on the issue from the UK Government. The UK Department of Work and Pensions want to make benefits conditional on drug addicts seeking help.
UK minister for employment and welfare reform Tony McNulty said the latest figures from 2003 indicate there are 24,000 problem drug users in Scotland, but researchers from Glasgow University are trying to update these figures for Westminster.
