Labour 'scaremongering' over meals

Labour was accused of scaremongering over plans to introduce free school meals for some youngsters, as Nationalists insisted funding was available for the scheme.

The Labour Party has already claimed that Scottish Government plans to give all youngsters in primary one to three a free school lunch could cost up to £50 million.

And the party has also claimed that half of Scotland's councils will not be able to implement it without extra cash from ministers.
