Yaris goes to top of class
ECO engine technology is claimed to take the latest Toyota Yaris to the top of the class for performance and economy.
Toyota's Optimal Drive gadgetry allows every version in the supermini range to boast exhaust emissions of 120g/km or less putting them in the £35 a year road tax bracket.
With the 1.33 Dual VVT-i power unit and stop-start technology, the Yaris is claimed to have more power and torque than its leading competitor models along with average economy of 55.4mpg.
Standing on new design 15-inch alloy wheels and boasting integrated front fog lamps, darkened headlamp glasses and matt silver finish door handles, the 2010 Yaris TR has new cloth upholstery and an analogue instrument display in addition to air conditioning, a six-speaker audio system, electrically adjustable door mirrors and 60/40 rear split folding seats.
Passive safety protection has been reinforced with the provision of side curtain airbags and a driver's knee airbag as standard equipment. These are in addition to the driver and passenger front and side airbags that are provided on all Yaris models, together with ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist.
Prices start from £10,256.
