Latest sporty C30 more than just a looker
LATEST versions of the Volvo C30 kitted out with the popular R-Design package will get a little more go to match the show of the styling tweaks when they arrive here early next year.
With up to 80 per cent of all C30 customers choosing R-Design, the sports-inspired specification has been a success in the UK since it was launched in 2007.
But it was all about visual appeal and, in spite of the distinctive looks, buyers weren't getting anything in the way of dynamic improvements.
Now Volvo is putting that right in the re-vamped C30 - launched at the Frankfurt motor show - by combining R-Design with a new sports chassis to provide a more dynamic driving experience.
The new sports chassis has been modified in several key areas. The car sits 10 mms lower, resulting in a lower centre of gravity while the steering, springs, dampers and roll stabilizers have all been modified.
The R-Design package includes a full body kit of front and rear spoilers, lower door trim mouldings and side-skirts colour-matched to the rest of the body, 17-inch five-spoke aluminium wheels and special interior trim and fittings.
