More from masterful Maserati

MASERATI has honed its Quattroporte S sporting saloon to create a new Sport GTS version.

The idea is to attempt to create the best sporting saloon for the connoisseur prepared to pay handsomely for the ultimate in attention to detail.

Power from the 4.7-litre V8 engine increases to 430bhp, the front and rear suspension systems get single-rate dampers, stiffer springs and lower ride height and the sports exhaust is controlled by pneumatic valves for a deeper and more throaty sound.

There is a new black grille with concave vertical fins featuring the Trident logo with red accents, new headlights in metallic titanium finish, body-coloured door handles and black twin-oval exhaust pipes, new M-design seats with perforated Alcantara and leather upholstery.

The Quattroporte Sport GTS will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January, at which time prices will be announced.
