CRIEFF Choral Group, under its conductor Peter Rutterford, will perform songs from Broadway shows in its next concert.
The concert will be held on Saturday, November 26, in the St Andrews Halls, Crieff, at 7.30pm.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Those of a certain age will be very familiar with the music of Richard Rogers, which will be a highlight of the concert, and the choir will also be singing a selection of songs from ‘Carousel’, ‘Oklahoma’, ‘Porgy and Bess’ and ‘My Fair Lady’.
“The very popular Scottish soprano Pandy Arthur is returning to Crieff after two years to sing some beautiful songs from the shows and she and the choir will be accompanied on the piano by Melvyn Turnbull. It promises to be an evening of foot-tapping enjoyment and light-hearted entertainment.”
Tickets are priced £9 (accompanied under-12s free), available through any member of the choir or by phoning John Drummond on 01764 679730.
The spokesperson added: “Rehearsals are now in full swing under Peter’s inspiring baton and the 60-strong choir are excited about once again putting on public show their melodic singing in harmony and enjoyment.”
