Braco Primary kids celebrate

PUPILS at Braco Primary School held their very own Highland Games to celebrate St Andrew’s Day.

The event was organised by Miss Armit's Celebrations and Achievements task group, who put together their own versions of traditional highland games events. After a highly entertaining afternoon the following were the talented certificate winners : Shot Putt - 1st Christopher Simpson (P1-2); Lewis Christopher (P3-4); Callum MacArthur (P5-7). 2nd Jack Simpson (P3-4); Owain Orr (P5-7). 3rd Alabama Hall (P3-4); Emma MacArthur (P5-7).

Tossing The Caber - 1st Megan Forbes (P3-4); Lydia Beirne (P5-7). 2nd Lewis Christopher (P3-4); Callum MacArthur (P5-7). 3rd Aiden Dickinson (P3-4); Craig Briody (P5-7).

Cumberland Wrestling - 1st Oonagh Griffiths (P1-2); Jack Simpson (P3-4); Laura Bowerbank (P5-7). 2nd Lewis MacArthur (P5-7); Freya Lennox (P3-4); Lewis Champion (P5-7). 3rd Leonie Foucart (P1-2); Jenny Robertson (P3-4); Owain Orr (P5-7).

Special mention must be made of Lewis Champion P7 who acted as Games Chieftain and master of ceremonies. His enthusiasm and showmanship certainly contributed highly towards making this a very memorable and enjoyable event for everyone.
