Comrie rocks around the clock

MANY may think that “R&R” stands for rest and relaxation. In Comrie it stands for Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Partygoers from throughout the Strath gathered at the White Church on Saturday to twist the night away to Elvis lookalike Jesse Garron and his band.

And before the blue haired, leather clad entertainer could say “Let’s Dance,” the crowd were up off their seats and ready to rock and roll.

With the guys in Teddy Boy and T-Bird outfits and the gals sporting Bobby socks, scarves and beehives, jivers from Comrie and Crieff rocked around the clock to songs from the 50s and 60s.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll night raised £1700 for White Church funds and organisers hope to repeat the series of special concerts with another Glam Rock night early next year.
